The Ashmont: A Scullery Designed for the Details
Off the kitchen, the scullery gives the Ashmont a second full workspace, custom cabinetry painted in Benjamin Moore Cheyenne Green, warmed by tongue-and-groove ceiling detail overhead. The long, narrow layout runs counter to counter along both walls, with matching pantry cabinets bookending each end of the room for storage that stays organized and out of sight.
A farmhouse sink anchors the window wall, paired with brass fixtures that echo the hardware used throughout the rest of the home. Behind the cabinetry, Calce Puro 3″x11″ tile runs floor-to-ceiling from the countertop up, grouted in Light Pewter, a quiet, textural backdrop that keeps the green cabinetry as the room’s focal point rather than competing with it. Open wood shelving breaks up the run of cabinetry, giving everyday dishware and pantry goods a place to live without closing the room in.
The appliance lineup is built for real prep work: a microwave drawer, a paneled dishwasher, and a paneled beverage fridge all disappear into the cabinetry, while two refrigeration drawers add extra cold storage without requiring a second full-size fridge. A built-in glass rinser rounds out the sink area, the kind of detail that turns a good-looking room into a genuinely functional one. Nothing reads as an appliance so much as an extension of the cabinetry itself.
It’s a room built to take the pressure off the main kitchen, prep, cleanup, and overflow storage all handled here. Like the kitchen, the dining space, and the outdoor living area before it, the scullery is one more room in the Ashmont plan built with the same level of intention, proof that no space in this home was treated as an afterthought.
