The Quincy: A Great Room Designed for Gathering
The great room in the Quincy Plan balances openness with warmth, creating a space that feels equally suited for everyday living and entertaining. White oak hardwood floors run throughout the room, grounding the lighter finishes and adding natural warmth to the overall palette. Large black-framed windows from Pella Windows, bring contrast and definition, while the shiplap ceiling and natural cedar beams introduce texture and architectural detail overhead without overwhelming the simplicity of the space.

At the center of the room, the fireplace acts as a natural focal point, framed by custom built-ins on either side. The built-ins were designed to feel integrated into the architecture rather than added onto it, offering both storage and display space while maintaining clean, uninterrupted lines. White oak countertops tie back to the flooring and natural wood elements throughout the room, reinforcing the layered use of warm materials carried throughout the home.

Just beyond the great room, glass accordion doors open fully to the screened-in back porch, creating a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. When opened, the space expands naturally, allowing the porch to function as a true extension of the main living area. The transition feels intentional and effortless, bringing in additional light, airflow, and flexibility for gathering.

Like the rest of the Quincy plan, the great room was designed with balance in mind—open without feeling oversized and detailed without feeling overdone. From the custom millwork to the natural cedar beams and connection to the outdoor living space, every element works together to create a room that feels comfortable, functional, and cohesive.
